Taylor Thrash Premieres New Album Step Forward + Exclusive Contest for a Personal Skype Performance + Chat

With the premiere of his new album, Step Forward, Taylor Thrash emphasizes his dreamy pop/rock with a multi-dimensional span of emotions. Taking dominant cues from sunny, piano-driven pop and acoustic rock, these 10 tunes see-saw between introspective love songs with heart-on-your-sleeve lyrics and heart-bursting jams about those moments when life can't get much better. It makes sense, considering the grounds this album was built upon.

"Step Forward is a collection of songs that I’ve written over the last two years describing the things I’ve gone through with love and without it," explains Thrash. "This record represents where I've been and where I am now." It's a vulnerable yet direct journey from the happy beginnings of "Losing My Mind" to the ukulele-infused, cleansing pop tune "Movin' On," and along the way you'll hit such highlights as "Broken," "Maybe Baby," and "Slippin.''"  The album drop tomorrow [8/21] via SpaceCamper Records [distributed by  Silverside/IODA] but you can spin its premiere right now. And if you have feedback, you can leave it in the comments — or with another source. "If you hate/love the album, you can email my mom at MyMom@TaylorThrash.com. She'll read em," offers Thrash.

And, if spinning these tunes make you wish for a personal serenade from the singer, you're in luck. We've teamed up to offer PV'ers an exclusive giveaway like no other. One grand prize winner will receive a personal acoustic concert and chat with Thrash himself via Skype, as well as a copy of Step Forward, a signed album poster, and a T-Shirt. Three runners up will receive a Step Forward T-Shirt. Here's how to enter!

-Follow PV and Taylor Thrash on Twitter
-Re-tweet this tweet adding #ThrashForward
-Contests ends next Monday [8/27] and winners will be notified via Twitter

Good luck, and for those wanting to lay claim on the album early, grab your pre-orders here.

Peter & Kerry cover the Chris Isaak classic

Peter & Kerry cover the Chris Isaak classic Wicked Game for Mahogany. As well as a incredibly strong original repertoire, Peter & Kerry also like to cover a song from time to time and whilst we were together near Old Street, they sung this beautiful cover of Chris Isaac.

My Education: "A Drink For All My Friends" Presale

The latest album from My Education, "A Drink For All My Friends", was recorded at the Bubble in Austin, Texas in 2011. Final overdubs, mixing and assemblage were completed at Headbump Studios and the Bubble in the months ending March 2012.

The record is in the mastering stages now and will be released on Golden Antenna Records in Europe and on Haute Magie Records in the USA on September 28th, 2012. It is the band's fervent desire to tour Europe for the first time in the spring of 2013.

They are seeking your help to raise funds to finance their European tour; namely, to help buy plane tickets! ME all feel that this is their strongest LP yet and that a promotional push for it in Europe is pretty much essential.

Golden Antenna are booking shows and arranging gear and van rentals for the band – now it's your turn to assist. The band has assembled an array of really nice promotional packages - all of which include a copy (or copies) of the new record- to whet your appetite.

Please pick your level of support and help My Education out!

Saint Motel

The indie-pop LA based quartet’s new album “Voyeur” is getting some airplay in Los Angeles by KCRW and is also being featured online in their Album Preview Series.

The music program says, (on the release of their debut full-length album) ...

"They have attacked it with gusto, adding dynamic touches to their rock-solid core of songwriting: percolating keyboard lines, grand piano gestures, wacky big-band samples, fiery horn sections, etc.  Songs like "Benny Goodman" and "Puzzle Pieces" chug along on the strength of their catchy riffs, but linger in the mind's ear and warrant repeat listens due to smart arrangements and the alchemy of fun-loving pop music at its most pleasurable."
